Magazine Design
[ Description ]
Goal
This personal project was created to explore editorial design through the format of a contemporary magazine. The challenge was to design a publication that balances strong visual storytelling with readability - ensuring that typography, layout, and imagery work cohesively to guide the reader’s experience.
Inspired by modern independent magazines that combine art, fashion, and culture, the objective was to experiment with layout systems, typographic hierarchy, and pacing across spreads - while maintaining a distinct and cohesive visual identity. Editorial design plays a key role in shaping how content is consumed, often acting as both a storytelling and aesthetic medium.
My Role
I independently conceptualized and designed the magazine from start to finish. This included developing the visual direction, creating layout systems, selecting typography, and designing individual spreads.
My focus was on creating a balance between expressive layouts and structured readability - experimenting with grid systems, white space, and image placement to achieve a refined, editorial feel.
Tools Used
- Adobe InDesign
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
Final Output
The final outcome is a concept-driven magazine design featuring a series of editorial spreads. The project showcases my ability to work with typography, layout, and visual hierarchy while building a cohesive narrative across pages - demonstrating strong skills in editorial design and art direction.
